About this role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Chief Marketing Officer to join an award-winning company which is breaking new ground in developing people through vocational learning. Corndel works with some of the UK’s largest and most high-profile businesses, delivering a range of government funded and commercial development programmes, including Leadership and Management, Project Management, Data Analytics, DevOps, and Software Development. Corndel has grown exponentially since its inception in 2016, through a proven strategy of targeted relationship building with Talent/Learning, Diversity & Inclusion, Early Careers and Digital Transformation decision makers at large corporates across a range of industries. In Q4 2020 Corndel received major investment backing from THI investments. THI’s investment is supporting the management team pursue both an organic and acquisitive growth strategy. The role: Corndel has ambitious plans to continue its growth trajectory through 2021 and beyond. This role will build and lead the marketing function to support Corndel’s business objectives. The Marketing Team currently consists of a Marketing Director, four Marketing Managers, two Marketing Executives and a Researcher. The majority of these team members have been in post for less than 6 months. The role will sit at Corndel Group Executive Leadership level and report into the Chief Executive. The Chief Marketing Officer will have overall ownership and responsibility for defining, implementing, and reporting on our group level marketing strategies across all Corndel brands. This is a ‘doing’ role in addition to a ‘strategic’ role. This role will work in close collaboration with the Business Development, New Client Acquisition, and Account Management teams, members of the Group Executive team and other senior leaders across our organisation. Responsibilities: With ultimate accountability for the success of the company’s marketing function you would: Drive the evolution of the brand identity as it extends into new products / markets. Develop compelling value propositions that demonstrate Corndel’s competitive advantages. Create and implement multi-channel acquisition strategies and campaigns, via strong collaboration with internal teams including New Business Acquisition, Project Teams, Curriculum Development Team etc. Co-ordinate sourcing and management of external suppliers including CRM – HubSpot, Web design agency and support, Designers, Photographers, SEO agency, social outreach agency, UX agency and PR agency. Bring strong analytical thinking to developing and analysing marketing campaigns. Produce monthly board reports on all marketing activity. Build out and deepen existing partnerships Monitor industry trends and identify potential opportunities for product expansion / introduction. Lead marketing events to ensure Corndel sees measurable return on investment. Management of Marketing budget and resource plan This is a ‘doing’ role in addition to a strategic role, so there will be opportunities to create and drive marketing strategies and delivery plans for new products and projects. Skills: Extensive copywriting and content production experience Demonstrable leadership skills in building teams and influencing the company’s strategic direction Experience working cross-functionally to ensure marketing programmes are aligned to organisational objectives. Strong communication and persuasion skills Strong organisational skills, with evidence of juggling multiple projects and priorities. Experience with HubSpot, WordPress, Google Analytics, social media – LinkedIn/Twitter, GoTo Webinar would be desirable. What we’re looking for: Strategic Chief Marketing Officer with 10+ years experience, ideally with 3+ years experience in a similar role. Experience of having built and lead cross functional marketing teams. Passionate about results, with evidence of achieving in high-growth environments. Experience working with scale up brands, and or consultancy or professional services organisation – B2B primarily. Demonstrable experience of developing and executing Go-to-Market strategy in an emerging fast-growing market Ability to lead and influence a company's strategic vision and direction. Commercial awareness of the commercial training marketplace and consultative selling process. Expert multi-tasker, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and stakeholders. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an eye for detail. A creative thinker with a proven track record in creating engaging marketing strategies.
